What better way to enjoy an almost afternoon than with a game of pétanque in the heart of Bristol?

Last week, we gathered with our students in Queen Square for a friendly game of pétanque (or boules), with plenty of good humour, a little healthy competition and, of course, lots of French conversation along the way.

A big merci to Bill and Will, our pétanque specialists, for showing us the ropes and helping everyone get into the spirit of the game. And thank you to everyone who came along and made the afternoon such a lovely occasion. Even with a bit of drizzle…

Pétanque is such a wonderfully French pastime, but you don’t have to travel to the South of France to enjoy it. Queen Square provided the perfect setting for a few hours of boules, bavardage et bonne humeur.
